Sometimes life seems to get in the way of even the best laid plans. And it’s not always a bad thing. Life just happens. You don’t have to give up on your workouts, date nights or favorite tv show. You just need to try a little prioritization. Don’t worry if you have fallen off the wagon, you can hop back on right now!
I recently got married and the weeks before and after the wedding were filled with planning, moving, and travel. I usually work out 1-2 hours a day and these past 3 weeks I have hardly done any exercise. Needless to say, I am a bit addicted to exercise and the lack-there-of left me a slightly unhappy person. Just this past week I have begun working out again, by prioritizing it, and my legs have been aching from the strain. But I have never been happier. The old saying “no pain, no gain” could not be more true.
Your best self is in reach
Ah exercise, how I have missed you… Exercise will give you endorphins to make you feel happier, will give you more energy, and the health benefits are astounding! Keep this in mind when you feel like you want to stay in bed and skip your morning workout or think that you are too busy to take a few minutes for yourself.
The best way to not miss a workout is to schedule it exactly like a meeting. Put it in your calendar and refuse to skip it. Show up no matter how you feel, sleepy, sore, unengaged, none of this matters. The hardest part is lacing up your shoes and hitting the pavement or gym. Once you are there, you’re workout will fall into place.
