I’m always looking for inspiring reads. When I heard that Lorna Jane, the founder of the popular female athletic apparel company Lorna Jane Active, had penned a new book titled Inspired I had to give it a look. Through my partnership with Fit Approach I received an advanced digital copy of the book to review as well as a hard copy soon after the book was released.
I am constantly seeking inspiration and was pleasantly surprised with how many different avenues of inspiration that I found in the pages of this book. As a book-worm since childhood, my expectations for a coffee table book are pretty high and this book delivers. Not only is it well written, but the book itself is vibrantly colored and invites you in. Inspired covers three main avenues to Lorna Jane’s personal success. Her belief in “MOVE. NOURISH. BELIEVE.”
MOVE your body through exercise and fitness.
NOURISH your body through healthy eating and smart nutrition.
BELIEVE in yourself and your power to achieve your wildest dreams.
No judgements are found here – just simple life advice. Inspirational quotes, healthy recipes and simple kick-butt workouts are scattered throughout the pages. One of my favorite quotes from the book is “Work hard, life is a balancing act. But make time for fun.” Hard work is important, but you still have to prioritize fun or why are you working so hard?
For me personally – I’ve been lacking motivation in a lot of things lately. I keep trying to self motivate – but it’s often hard. I am always inspired by the journey of others to success, whether in careers, fitness, relationships or all of the above. Life truly is a balancing act and mastering that is hard to do. Learning from others their tips and tricks to success is paramount to my own personal success.
I know I’m going to be returning to the pages of this book for many years to come and gaining inspiration and knowledge. Not only are the recipes healthy and nourishing – but they are easy to make and don’t require spending hours in the kitchen. My time is limited and I need quick and healthy meals.
As a whole, the book does an excellent job of giving you inspiring quotes and providing tools for success. In the end – you alone have the power to achieve your goals and to put in the work to get there. This book will help guide you and keep you sane along the way. Maintain balance in your hectic life and reach your goals by following the principles outlined in Inspired.
We all are only given one life. Make it count by fueling your body right, finding a proper balance and sweating every day.
